In most cases, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, allowing it to be carried out comfortably and without pain. Depending on the size and location of the lesion, the procedure usually takes around 15\u201330 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of surgical removal is to minimize scarring while ensuring complete excision. There is no need to arrive on an empty stomach or to avoid drinking fluids beforehand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have a referral from a dermatologist, the doctor will already be informed about the nature of the skin lesion, allowing the treatment to begin more efficiently and quickly. A referral can help simplify the process, especially if a diagnosis has already been established.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><strong>After surgery<\/strong><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the first few days we recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity. For facial wounds, please avoid bending forward and, if possible, sleep with your head elevated for 3 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The wound area should be kept clean and dry to support proper healing and reduce the risk of infection. Make sure the wound does not come into contact with water for the first 3 days, and if the dressing becomes wet replace it with a dry one. Facial wounds, however, must not come into contact with water at all. The sterile adhesive strips applied to these areas do not need to be changed until stitch removal and all wounds should be protected from soaking for at least 1 week after the surgery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The dressing should be changed daily or every other day until the stitches are removed. Each time the dressing is changed, the wound should be disinfected with Octenisept, Cutasept spray, or Betadine. We recommend using a breathable adhesive dressing, such as Omnistrip or SteriStrip, to cover the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mild tenderness and a feeling of tightness are completely normal after the procedure. In some cases, swelling may also occur (especially after facial procedures), although it usually resolves within a few days. During the first few days, you may gently cool the area with a gel ice pack for 2\u20133 minutes at a time, repeating this about every 15 minutes, if needed. Slight oozing during the first 3 days can also be part of a natural healing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that the wounds require sun protection for several months, which is why direct sunlight, tanning beds, saunas and excessive heat should be avoided during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If any issues arise:<\/strong> if you experience pain, you may safely take any pain reliever that you are not allergic or sensitive to, except for Aspirin. If you experience bleeding, apply gentle pressure to the wound for 30 minutes.
